The
Nexus School 2006 – 2007 Fact Sheet
- The Nexus School is a private academic school licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Education.
- The Nexus School serves students within the autism spectrum and is certified to
serve students kindergarten through eighth grade.
- The Nexus School is a 10 month program and ESY (extended school year) is determined
on a yearly basis. The tuition is $56,000 and required to be made twice
yearly prior to the beginning of each semester . The
Nexus School determines each school whether it will provide an ESY
program. In the event that an ESY
program is offered at The Nexus School an additional fee is assessed based
on the current tuition rate. The
Nexus ESY program for the summer of 2007 is $975 a week (9-1, 5 days).
- Services available for students are speech
therapy and occupational therapy.
- The Nexus School’s refund policy is as follows:
If
the pupil is to be removed from the school for any reason, the parent or school
district will provide 30 days written notice prior to termination. Liability
for tuition will terminate at the end of the semester. If notice is not given
30 days prior to the start of a semester, the parent and/or District shall
remain liable for the scheduled tuition for the semester.
If
The Nexus School notifies the District/parents that placement at the School is
no longer appropriate, the parties will cooperate to resolve the problem
subject to the “stay put” rule. Under
these circumstances, should the pupil leave prior to the end of the semester, The
Nexus School would then reimburse the District/parents the unused portion of
the tuition.
